     On July 18 to 24, "directional championships and the 2014 national students' Chinese 4 d cup" the 10th national surveying and mapping geographic information worker orienteering contest "in guizhou zhenning buyi and miao autonomous county. Directional cross-country team in our school won the undergraduate course in colleges and universities in group total score second b, and obtained the good results of the single one Jin Eryin copper.

   The competition by Chinese college students sports association, China association for middle school students' sports, hosted at the Chinese academy of surveying and mapping geographic information, to "targeted organ township, beyond the dream" as the theme, attracted 53 national high school and Beijing university, tsinghua university, communication university of China this specialized subject in colleges and universities such as 92 units and mapping system (41) form a team, a total of more than 2100 people. Match with the hundreds of meters, short distance race, middle-distance race, tournament, short medley relay, team competition, such as 6 competitions, large-scale events, wide influence. Directional cross-country team early in order to prepare for the event, the school do plan, to select eight players ahead of time. In the pre-match training phase, the directional team in addition to training at the local and surrounding areas, also training in guiyang. Game 4 on the first day of the men and women in the medley relay, our school won the first.

During the competition, electrical college of more than 100 student volunteers volunteers wearing a yellow dress, dedicating the shuttle in the reception, the game, the reception of the hotel and passenger station, they with warm and thoughtful service and patience and meticulous work won the praise of the participating teachers and students, because their volunteers wearing a yellow dress and participating teachers and students affectionately called campus "yellow people". The 2014 IAAF World Race Walking Cup was held from May 3 to 4 in Taicang, Jiangshu Province, China. Lv Xiuzhi from School of Law & Public Administration, Anhui University of Technology, together with other four competent women athletes, Liu Hong, Nie Jingjing, Sun Huanhuan and Ding Huiqin, formed the Chinese team to compete in the women’s 20 kilometer race walking. Lv Xiuzhi won the 6th place in the event at 1 hour 27 minutes and 15 seconds.

   The IAAF Race Walking, being the most important event coming after the ones in Olympic Games and the world championships, attracted 50 teams, over 300 athletes from different parts of the world. Totally 88 athletes took part in the women’s 20 kilometer race walking competition. Chinese team won the second place, Russian the 1st and Portuguese the 3rd.

   The IAAF World Race Walking Cup is a race walking event organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It has been held since 1961, and generally on a biennial basis. The event is divided into junior and senior groups. There are team and individual adult men’s 20 km and 50 km race walking, adult women’s 20 km, young men’s and women’s 10 km.  

Nov. 5，the ceremony of appointment was held for the university new administrators, which was hosted by President Li Jiaxin.

According to the decision made by the Anhui Provincial Government,Professor Liu Xinyue was appointed new Chairman of the University Council, Anhui Univeristy of Technology, taking the place of Professor Lan Yujie who was to take a new position. Former Vice President Chen Run was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the University Council, taking the place of Professor Wang Guangyan who completed his service period and Professor Zu Ming was appointed as the Vice President of the university.

The head of Anhui Education Department, Professor Cheng Yi spoke highly of the contributions made by former administrators Professor Lan Yujie and Professor Wang Guangyang and made brief introduction to the new leaders. He hoped the university could be united more closely to build up high-level university with distinctive characteristics.

Professor Liu Xinyue expressed his determination that he would never disappoint the university staff and students and try his best to develop the university’s fundamental interests and make very effort to recast the glories of Anhui University of Technology.

Organized by MIT and hosted by CUHK, Asia Division final competition of the 11th International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition (IGEM) was held in Hongkong. 68 Asian top universities including Tokyo Univeristy, Univeristy of Sydney, Seoul University, Hongkong University, Hongkong University of Science and Technology, Chinese University of Hongkong, Taiwan Jiaotong University, Peking University and Tsinghua University participated in the final. After the fierce competition, the team from Anhui University of Technology, AHUT-China won the third place, same position with Tokyo University, University of Sydney, Osaka University, Indian Institute of Technology, Seoul University and Nanjing University.

204 teams in total from different parts of the world joined in the competition. Internationally renown universities such as MIT, University of California, Berkeley, Purdue University have also been involved in the event. The International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition (IGEM), initiated by MIT in 2003, attracts top students from top universities each year and is regarded as the highest-level scientific competition for college students in the field of synthetic biology

Co-sponsored by Ministry of Education, Chinese Association for Sysmtem Simulation and Siemens China, the Automation Challenge Finals for college students were held in Shanghai from Aug. 18 to Aug. 22. 104 teams from 75 colleges and universities and over 320 teachers and students have been invovled in. Two teams from AHUT, led by Feng Xugang and Hu Xuefeng, joining in Design and Development Group and Engineering Applications Group, went through the links of designing, bidding, optimizing, field testing, project handover and defenses and won two Grand Prizes in the end. In total 8 colleges won the Grand Prizes in two groups competitions respectively.

413 teams and about 1500 teachers and students joined in the preliminaries held in 5 sub-divion areas around the country since the Challenge Cup started in July. AHUT teams ranked first and second at the preliminaries held in East China division and qualified for the national finals.

The Automation Challenge for the National College Students, approved by Ministry of Education, is an engineering innovative scientific competition especially designed for the students who are majoring in automation, measurement and control, process equipment and control, mechatronics and other related fields. All participating teams are supposed to complete engineering projects in the environment consisting of real industrial controllers and simulated industrial objects and to be ranked according to the final controlling efficiencies. The event has been successfully held for 7 times so far and listed as one of the competitive events funded by the State Teaching Quality and Reforming Project. Prize winners will be given priority considerations to be employed by internationally renowned enterprises including Siemens and Huawei.
