Honor Won at 2014 IAAF World Race Walking Cup

The 2014 IAAF World Race Walking Cup was held from May 3 to 4 in Taicang, Jiangshu Province, China. Lv Xiuzhi from School of Law & Public Administration, Anhui University of Technology, together with other four competent women athletes, Liu Hong, Nie Jingjing, Sun Huanhuan and Ding Huiqin, formed the Chinese team to compete in the women’s 20 kilometer race walking. Lv Xiuzhi won the 6th place in the event at 1 hour 27 minutes and 15 seconds.


   The IAAF Race Walking, being the most important event coming after the ones in Olympic Games and the world championships, attracted 50 teams, over 300 athletes from different parts of the world. Totally 88 athletes took part in the women’s 20 kilometer race walking competition. Chinese team won the second place, Russian the 1st and Portuguese the 3rd.


   The IAAF World Race Walking Cup is a race walking event organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It has been held since 1961, and generally on a biennial basis. The event is divided into junior and senior groups. There are team and individual adult men’s 20 km and 50 km race walking, adult women’s 20 km, young men’s and women’s 10 km.
